One of my sons has presto valves. I don't like them much 1) because I'm not used to them 2) because the mini pump I have is obviously not getting enough air into them. I use a foot pump for the other two bikes, is it possible to get an adapter which will mean I can use the foot pump on the presto valves?

I've got a little brass(looking) screw in adaptor that converts a schrader to presta, 99p at LBS. Got one for both frame pumps and means that I can do either valve type on the go. For home I got the Joe Blow mark II which has a twin headed valve fitting to cover both types.

If you have a LBS near you, they usually sell them for a couple of £

thank you one and all.

Drilling the rims, god do you know Mr Pig what I'm like with a drill, it would be like a colander by the time I'd finished!

I'd go with wot Tynan says. I've got one of those adaptors for my foot pump. Was pretty useless. Got a track pump and it was a revelation. So easy to use and does both my bikes which very considerately have different valve systems.
