Presta valve?

Hey,
i just want to check my tyre pressure so i bought a raleigh presta pressure reader but when i put it on the bike tyre it does not read it!!
Bike- Giat ocr compact road.

please can somebody help!!?

Either it is rubbish or you haven't unscrewed the valve nut.

Why not just use a pump with a pressure gauge?

k, which bit is the valve nut??
And becasue i dont own one and they cost £25 so i figure i should just use what i have and save myself the price of a tesco jersey and shorts,
