Thats it in a nutshell. I tried today but could not unscrew the valve. Can it be unscrewed? How do I get gel into these tyres?

best wishes

You can get presta tubes with removable cores. As for filling the tubes you got, well good luck

Or don't bother. Check your tyres regularly, keep them well pumped up and keep out of the gutter - I get a couple of punctures a year.

While on the subject of 'slime' type products...i encountered a problem a few years ago. Perhaps someone can tell me if its the same for all these products.
I used a self sealing type tyre some years ago, already primed with some kind of chemical i assume.
What happened is, when i got a puncture....yes, the stuff did its work and immediately healed.
But, then you (i) ended up with a 'hard' section in the tyre, where the puncture had healed. It was quite noticeable, you could feel it while riding.

Is it the same for all these products ?
I didnt bother after that....riding with this hard patch in your tyre was bloomin awful ;)

Carry spare inner tubes, they will weigh less than a spray can of goo ;)

I've only ever used the proper green slime, but never had any problems with hard spots...
