Just had a frustating time trying to remove the dust cap from a spare tube returned to me, as the valve core was coming out with the cap. Cap had been screwed on so tightly I had to remove it from the core by holding the core with needle nose pliers. Good job I hadn't simply replaced it in the bike bag, as I don't carry pliers with me. Looked online for core tools, anyone know where I can get just 1 of the little plastic tools?

You can sometimes use a spoke wrench - the circular ones with multiple slots. Size 11 I think fits.
Update - I tried my Park Tool Spoke Key, nothing fitted so I invested in an Icetoolz spoke key, and the number 12 slot fits the valve core flats perfectly. It's now in the saddlepack. Useful suggestion moo :thumbsup:
