What experience have people on this forum had with different pressfit BBs in terms of reliability between services?

As road bike newbie, I'm wondering if my experience of sorting out a grungy pressfit bb that was starting to creak after just over 100 hours (says Strava) is typical. I'm using a SRAM GXP 50/34 crank
and according to SRAM this about the normal time period.
Does this mean that every couple of months I should be taking the crankset apart to service it?

In the SRAM instructions there's the following warning:
Attention
Bearings require regular maintenance. Re-grease bearings after 100 hours of use in dry
conditions or immediately following any significant exposure to water; such as riding in heavy

rain or through water crossings. (my bold & Italics)
I was also surprised that I couldn't remove the crank arm and spindle and that SRAM's advice is to "Use a rubber mallet to gently tap the end of the crank spindle" to remove it.
Thanks in advance.

ime all SRAM GXP bottom brackets pressfit or otherwise are made from cream cheese and cucumber, and are best tossed away at the first opportunity. It seems with all external bearing BB's the manufactures now regard them as consumable items like chains and brake pads.

I won't waste beer tokens on SRAM replacements, for my conventional BB shells, I buy a Hope BB (and their GXP adapters) instead.

With GXP the crank/arm spindle are made as a unit and not designed to separate and yes you need to gently tap the end of the spindle, once you've got the other crank off, because the spindle is an interference fit in the bearing race.

My analysis? Nice chainset, shame about the BB.

Did 8000 miles with shimano press-fit then had the frame replaced under warranty and the new BB on replacement frame started clicking at about 500 miles, on my other bike did about 3000 winter miles and the bb30 is still running smooth.

Hollowtech II for me too. Easy to fit and remove, reasonably durable, cheap as chips. I tried a Chris King HTII BB and managed to kill it in one season of cross, which is pretty much the same as I usually get out of Ultegra cups, but the Chris King cost five times as much!
