Hi,
I've just purchased a new pressfit 86 BB for my Canyon Endurace from C-Bear , on their site they say to use anti seize paste before installing.
My bike is carbon with no metal shells inside the BB. On a couple of Youtube videos from GCN cycling I've watched, they say if pressing into carbon frames with no metal shells then the pressfit should go in dry because grease or anti seize could compromise the carbon frame .
What is the consensus about using anti seize compound or grease or not?

I have always used a smear of grease on pressfit BBs, except the time I had to use loctite to stop a creak.

Just done bb replacement myself. Easy job. LBS (who is a mate) told me that he always puts a smear of copper grease on the outside of the bearing shells. Make sure non gets anywhere near the bearings!!!
He says it matters not if there is an insert or not.
Can't see much difference between copper grease and anti seize in that scenario. Not normal grease because that can go hard.

Loctite you put on a bolt to stop it vibrating (or otherwise) loose on somewhere you don't want it to come loose, like a chain ring bolt, but the "seal" will break with sufficient force, so its non permanent bond.

Loctite is a brand of threadlocker. It relies on the shearing effect when a bolt is screwed into a thread to harden.
This BB is pressfit: threadlocker lacks application in this context.

Thanks for all your replies guys, very much appreciated.
I had a live chat with Canyon this morning, according to their mechanic, they put pressfits in dry or use loctite 641, talk about all or nothing!!!
I think I'll probably go with the anti seize paste as recommended by C-Bear.
Thanks again
