New (ish) bike has a slight click in the BB and needs replacing.

Is the standard Shimano PF about as good as it gets or is there anything that offers better longevity?

Need to specify what crankset you plan to use with the BB, I suggest. H2?

Based on my other MTB, yes. Odd creak when the pedals level and weighting up or setting off. Spin the cranks 180 and bounce produces the same creek. It's not a constant click on rotation.
