So as I've been cycling more and more, I've been wearing my contact lenses instead of my glasses as they get uncomfortable after getting sweaty for a while! However it's getting a bit too bright to be comfy cycling.
I was wondering if it's worth paying for prescription cycling glasses (if this is even possible), or to wear contact lenses with sunglasses. I have no idea about anything - help please!

I wear CL's and use standard sunglasses on top. The basic reasons are

a) rain

b) Ideally you need a replaceable lens system so it's yellow for dark days and polarised for bright.

Do a search on CC, using the Search box in the top RH corner - there have been quite a few threads on this already ! ^_^

Why, what was the problem?

I'd phoned up to ask for a couple of frames to be sent to me to try out (which they advertise on their website). When, after a week or so, none had arrived, I phoned up to check where they were. I spoke to "the manager". No records of my details, then she essentially said something bizarre along the lines of the test frames are free, so what is my problem and we are doing you a favour (when actually the situation is the you send you the frames to try and you send them back).

I ended up using spex4less and was very happy, both with the glasses, and the aftersales (the initial glasses had to be sent back as a lens was loose).

I've gone for a pair of Chinese Okleys off Ebay. They were £6 and are decent enough. They come with a prescription insert which you can have glazed cheaply by sites like Ciliary Blue (my recommendation as the service is second to none.).

I have just been very impressed with Spex4less too - I haven't used optilabs, but certainly, they get recommended pretty much every time this question comes up (at least once a month)

How do you mean a big difference? Either you want to wear contacts or not?

I use the Rudy Project RX system as this allows me to change the lenses to suit the weather and brightness, but maintain the vision of the prescription lens.

Also works the other way round as when your prescription changes, you simply have the insert re-glazed
