Preparation for long weekend in Outer Hebrides

Hi there,

As per title I am going on a cycling weekend at the beginning of June. Total mileage is 204 but the bulk of this is 84 miles on day 2 and 74 miles on day 3. The terrain varies between easy and hard and there are quite a few hills.

I am a newcomer to cycling and the group that I am going with are all experienced. I don't want to hold anybody up and I want to enjoy the ride rather than endure it.

It may seem overkill but I want to start training now - a 12 week plan to ensure that I've got the mileage in my legs.

I'd be grateful for any thoughts or pointers.

just get used to the distance and expect headwinds, rain and gales and anything else will be wonderful. have been there several times over the years and loved it, even been sunburnt.
