Hello ,

Since im only really a beginner in mamy ways i was wondering what the preferred choice of clothing was during the ever increasing winter months ??

Summer time i find myself rather comfortable in just a pair of shorts and maybe a light jumper but now winters in full swing by im wondering would layering up be best or are single layers and just warming up on the go a good choice ?

Truth be told i usually do the latter but i am curious about everyone elses preferences?

Increasing or decreasing amounts of layers depending on weather.
Good gloves
A buff
Overshoes
A decent waterproof (I've yet to find one!)
Arm warmers
Leg warmers

Depends on the type of cycling, leisure, sport or utility.
Do you just want to get from A to B?
Or do you want to get from A to B as fast as safely possible?
Maybe you want to be out for hours on a round trip from A to A:smile:
People will dress differently for the different types of journey.

Always layers for me!
I have a useful jacket which has zip off sleeves (seen wearing it in my profile pic with the sleeves off).
I love it as I do get warm after a while, so just zip off the sleeves and carry on!

I find that a waterproof and therefore windproof jacket is the best thing to wear.

I don't wear or even own any of the typical cycling uniform, but there again I'm only out for two hours at most and don't go fast.

Layers are your friend

Compression base layer, merino base layer, windproof "roubaix" jersey (ie slighly fleecy inside), arm warmers, decent gloves, packable waterproof jacket for over the top if needed.
DHB from Wiggle is an excellent and inexpensive brand to get all the basics, although as with all things cycling you can spend as much as you want...;)
