Just wondered if it was possible to fit a power link to my Giant Defy bike chain?

Yes. You need to make sure its the right kind ie 9 speed or 10 speed, but it should work.

Would any old link work so long as it is the correct 9 our 10 speed or does it have to be shimano or kmc etc depending on the current model in use? Ta.

in my experience one man's 9 speed works perfectly well on another man's chain. Not tried it with 10.

iirc correctly 10 speed links aren't reusable?
