Can an alloy frame be powder coated?

Yes.

Powercoating involves heating the object being coated so that the 'paint' melts onto the object. I've no idea of the relative temperatures involved but it's as well to double check before you wreck and expensive alloy frame.

Thanks. I'll get some quotes. It's only an old frame that was given to me so I'm willing to take the risk.
