Im no expert but this is what I would do in the first instance turn the bike upside down looking form the front (front wheel) Back (Back wheel) use the brake blocks as a guide spin each wheel slowly check if the wheel leans significantly towards one break block or the other whilst its spinning also looking from the side check if the wheel rises at any point as it passes through the break blocks
IMO Generally wheels will take a bit of an hammering but you need to check them regularly especialy with the roads the way they are nowadays
