I haven't got any options now to add anything to a post or amend text, etc. - have I unclicked something?

Are you browsing CC from a mobile device?

If so, they cannot load the wrapper for the editor box so you'll have to use *'s for *emphasis* and

No, it's my laptop and it's on Chrome, your question prompted me to check on IE and it works OK on that! *insert smiley*

erm, getting to the upper limit of my low geek ability now - I'll have to read up and let you know!

I can't see what's up with Chrome and I've no idea about the Java thing - IE works fine though, so 'll stick with that one.
