Before I set off on my Sunday ride I pumped up the tyres to their prescribed 7 Bar. After a few minutes I felt a bumping from the back wheel. I had a look and thought that the tyre was bulging out to the side in one place. So I let a bit of air out and the bumping lessened. I had to repeat the process a couple of times.
My questions are:
a. Is a bulging tyre wall likely to cause bumping?
b. Does a bulging tyre wall mean that part of the tyre is failing? I'm pretty sure that it can't be down to the inner tube.
c. It also occurred to me last night that the wheel could be going out of true, not laterally but across the diameter. I've not had time to check that yet though.
Any thoughts?
