I bought 3 pairs of decent lycra cycling shorts at £55 a piece about a 18 months ago and have been wearing them for the 15 mile/day commute, washing them every day. So each has had about 1500 miles and 100 washes.

But now the chamois is really smelly. I tried washing them at 50 deg C with some bicarb the other day, but it didnt help much.

Any tips on how to best wash them so they dont smell anymore?

Lend them to Mary (Mrs Jeffrey) Archer. The papers used to describe her as "fragrant".
Seriously though, er... febreze?

If after all you've tried they are still embarrasingly smelly the only option you have is to buy three more and dump those. This is not meant as a flippant reply but IMO there is no other option!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You wouldn't want the chemicals from fabreze on your 'parts' or up your jacksie. Would you?

If it made me as fragrant as Mary Archer, let's go there!
