Polls: no longer anonymous - why?

I used to enjoy the anonymity of the forum polls - now you can't take part anonymously. Why is that? What's going on?

It used to be an option when you set the question. Don't know if that's still the case.

Start one yourself and find out? Can't think of a decent question myself at the moment.

What about a Poll asking whether Polls should be anonymous

would that have to be anonymous, or would we be able to know which people voted for anonymity?
