Usual apologies if this has been posted elsewhere. I did a quick search but could not find anything.

I know many fellow CC'ers are interested in how the police (amongst other bodies) carry out their investigations on road crashes, so I thought some may feel it worthwhile contributing:

Public invited to contribute to Police Road Death Investigation Policy

The Association of Chief Police Officers is calling on the public to help shape police policy involving road death investigations
A consultation will focus on police standards when responding, reporting and investigating, road traffic collisions and will influence an agreed policy and guidance published by ACPO.
ACPO’s last review of its Road Death Investigation Manual (RDIM) was carried out in 2007.

Perhaps they should explain what their current policy is before inviting our thoughts on changing it?

Yes, I know what it is, and it's already gone down the U bend. But when asking for ones opinion on how something might be changed for the better, would it not be useful for them to explain at the same time, or at least direct the enquirier to somehwere it can be found, what the current stance is that people are being asked to comment upon?
