Demand a stronger sentence for double killer driver
In August 2011 Audrey Fyfe, a 75-year-old CTC member, was hit and killed by Gary McCourt near her home in Edinburgh.
26 years prior to that McCourt had hit and killed another cyclist, George Dalgity, for which he received a 2 year jail sentence.
Last week McCourt was sentenced to just 300 hours community service and a 5 year driving ban for killing a second time.
Mrs Fyfe's family are distraught and wish to appeal the sentence, however, an 'unduly lenient sentence' appeal can only be made by the prosecution.
CTC want as many people as possible to write in support and has provided a draft letter to the Lord Advocate, who is ultimately responsible for the appeal decision.
Once you have filled out the form below and clicked 'go to next page' you will be able to edit and personalise the letter before sending.
