Hi,

Sorry, I have had a look and can't find an answer so thought I would try a post.

I have just purchased my first road bike, previously had a hybrid, at the same time took the plunge and decided to go for some SPD pedals.

I have the shoes and have ordered the cleats but apparently I need a plate to put in the shoe (it didn't come with one), my normal place, Wiggle, hasn't any in stock until the end of May and can't find any in looking at a few other sites.

Any-one know of a place that sells them please, assuming I need it?

I then have the challenge of actually riding in them but at the moment am staring at a new bike and can't use it.

Any help appreciated.

Couple of questions.

What sort of shoes are they, and were they new when you got them? Most SPD shoes have a plate under the insole.

What sort of pedals did you buy? Most co,e with cleats already.

If your shoes are SPD compatible, and don't have mounting plates, and your pedals don't come with cleats, google Exustar Shimano compatible cleats. They are supplied with a backing plate.

Thanks for the responses, shoes were new from wiggle, I think (maybe) it's because they are compatible with both SPD and SPD-SL cleats.

Yes cyberknight, that's the one, will be using on a road bike.

Shoes are shamano r064
