Hi all

Looking for some advice, looking to get some race specific wheels but have a limited budget. Been looking around and have seen the Planet X 50 mm Carbon wheelset for about £400 has anyone used and are they anygood. I have normal set of wheels that came with TCR advanced and a set of Mavic Equips but want an aero set for crit racing and general road.

I know these are heavy but from my understanding the aero advantage would help, no mountains where I live just short sharp hills

Cheers

Probably as good as it gets in that price range.

Consider the tubular version if it's going to be a race day only set.

Personally, I am not convinced the aero advantage is worth it for the purpose you have in mind. I use Mavic Ksyrium Elite's for the same purpose, and will probably replce them with alloy handbuilts in the near term.

My boyfriend has a set of Planet X wheels, used on a TT bike for triathlon. I don't know what particular kind they are. They're quite popular with triathletes. He seems happy with them - he could definitely tell the difference compared with the wheels (not very exciting ones) he had before.
