The P-X SL Pro is great value if you don't mind the super compact frame. I went to the P-X showroom with the intention of getting the SL Pro but it really didn't do it for me looks wise. Fortunately my girlfriend insisted I spend £500 more for an upgraded Nanolight. So I did just that

If I didn't buy my bike 4 weeks before I saw that bike posted on this forum I would have spent the extra £350 to get one.

Its a top bike for the money - yes its quite a compact frame but so are Specialised bikes now and they're good enough for Schleck and Contador.

I bought a nanolight btw and its fantastic

Nothing at all wrong with a compact frame. My only problem with it is the way it looks - I think the larger frame sizes look more aesthetically pleasing than the smaller ones. Unfortunately I'd need a small/medium.

It's crap.

Or at least that's what I'm telling myself to avoid spending over £1,000 on a new bike to replace my year-old one.

Keep repeating until you believe it.

I ordered mine back towards the end of August and after a 6 week wait, it duly arrived by courier just over a week back. Impressions when compared to my Carrera Virtuoso? Lighter, far comfier and very responsive when you need to really stand on the pedals! Having come from Shimano ST2300, SRAM Red is a night and day difference. Only slight reservation I have, is the noise from the cassette. It's probably louder than I would like it to be, but for the overall benefits of easy and smooth shifting, it's a price I'm prepared to pay.

Here's a photo of my steed. You'll notice the addition of Crud Roadracer 2 mudguards. It's not my attention to have this gathering dust in the nastier weather!

I should also say that the frame is extremely compact. Probably more so than my Virtuoso. But to my mind this doesn't detract from the performance and provides the comfort that I was missing to an extent on the other steed.

I've got SRAM Red too - amazing! I also thought the cassette was a little noisy, but in hindsight it was just the build. Try adjusting the cable tension on the rear deraileur. I can't remember which way I went but it was quite a few turns out.

You've got the rear mudguard stays on the wrong way round.
