I had my sights on the P400 Alpkit bag for some summer touring, but gosh darn it, it's sold out. Is there any alternative to this bag in terms of warmth and lightness? That is, without paying the extra price for a PHD bag. ;)

might want to move this one to the touring section now that I look at it...

They didn't last long!
You've missed the PHD sale too.

Umm....
Rab Quantum 400 £193
ME Xero 350 £176 or £160
ME Dreamcatcher 500 £130
Blacks, £120, but a bit short on info I'd look for some user reviews on this one.

I'd probably got for the £160 Xero 350 in your position

I've just got one of these through: http://www.tauntonleisure.com/products/summit-300---spring-offer-/4810/

Only has a comfort rating of 0 so maybe not warm enough for you. It's also pretty minimalist with no zip or anything but seems like a quality bit of kit.
Nice and light for the warmth/price at 750g

edit - In fact, that site seems to have it wrong as the paperwork from Rab that came with it gives a comfort rating of -2 and a weight of 790g. Bargain I say!

Did you check with Alpkit when the Pipedream 400 is back in stock? I have on of these and think its excellent! Alternatively, I know their Skyhigh bags are in stock, they're a little heavier, but are cheaper at least

I have one of those and can highly recommend it. Very light, packs very small, and IMO warm enough for summer camping. And, they seem to be on sale - at £136.50, I would call it a bargain.
