I done a 14k ride today, I've always had a mountain bike and I've just recently brought a carrera and I had pins and needles In my feet towards the end of my ride, does anyone know why is this normal?

Not sure could be loads of things . I would get a bike fit to make sure you are comfy or your shoes are to tight.

Are you using SPD pedals ? I used to get pins and needles in my left foot quite badly until I moved the cleats back 5mm so the spindle is just behind the ball of my foot now, it was just in front before which felt ok sat on the bike. soon as I put any power down I must of been catching a pressure point or something.

No I'm not using spds , standard pedals and trainers.

Pins & needles in your feet suggests that something is limiting the blood supply to the nerves in your feet. Depending where the sensation is (ie upper or lower) then it could either be soft soles (as pointed out) or maybe your laces are too tight. Have a play around riding in different shoes, different tensions, etc and see what happens.

But I don't think we need to be rushing off to the GP, or the bike fitter, just yet...

Aldi had some spd shoes, might be worth checking you rlocal stores just in case then you just need pedals and cleats, you can pick up m520s for around £20 if you shop around.
