I have a Pitlock on the front wheel. Not sure if anyone's attempted to have a go but the fact there's no quick release on show may help keep the opportunist thieves at bay. (The back wheel has a skewer specific to the turbo and anyway the lock goes through the wheel and frame).

Once you've had a bike or bits stolen the costs for the extra security bits and pieces become more justified.

Got a good review in the CTC mag recently. They got one of those "professional thief" types to test them and he reckoned they worked a treat. You have to make sure the washers are installed the right way round though.

I use the cheaper allen key type on my commuter and touch wood my wheels have not bee nicked, so I'd say they are value for money.

I have the Trans X - 5 sided allen key type ones - not as expensive as the pinheads, but enough to stop an occasional thief - and the wheels are still d-locked and chained.......
