Pin-pointable knee pain

After a fast ride of anything over 60ish miles I get a pain that almost feels like a deep but small bruise under the left side of my right knee-cap. No setup changes and its only when it's been a climby ride.

It lasts for about 8 hours afterwards then goes until the next time.

Anyone have any ideas?

Kneecap not tracking correctly? Spin more rather than grind? Do you do leg focused exercise other than cycling?

If it persists, pay to see a sports physio (and for a proper bike set up)...probably just the knee being grumpy about the hills. My left one doesn't like them, but then it's knackered

I rarely drop below a cadence of 80, it's something I'm trying to bring up in case it was that. No other exercise on the legs. I think you might be right that I just have a grumpy knee.

I did here that this sort of thing can be caused by over tight ham strings. Can anyone give credence to this?
