I've found another pimping gadget for your bike...

If they were a bit cheaper I would buy a set . I don't ride a fixie, but I quite fancy some neon message writers. ;)

I could sell advert space on the side of my bike - any takers?

I saw quite a few on the Dun Run last year. It'll probably be the same in a couple of weeks too. Very effective in the dark.

They look fun ("DONT SQUASH ME" in rainbow) but 450g with batteries and approx 60quid a wheel assuming you get all 3. Then there's the 9 AA's you'll need a wheel per 48hrs use. Hrmmm if had nothing better to do with my money.

I have 3, given as an Xmas pressie a couple of years back.

Just managed to fit them on the fixie rear wheel with the large flange hub and the deep section rims. I only ride with them during the winter. To change batteries they need to be taken off, best to get some rechargables.

You get a lot of comments/looks from other cyclists, motorists and pedestrians. Motorists also tend to slow a bit when passing so they can watch the pretty patterns. Not sure if that is a good thing. I would rather they paid attention to the road.

Although you can program them to write a message, it is a bit of a PITA and the message is not all that clear so I just let them run in the default mode which changes the pattern every few seconds.
