phantom punctures…

not on my bike, but a baby buggy.

the tyre keeps going down, even though the tube-in-sink test yielded nothing. i slimed it for belt-and-braces, but the thing has gone soft again.

the wheel is spoked and a bit warped due to a missing spoke. i've beefed up the nipple protection on the rim with some insulation tape, for good measure.

any ideas?

Valve core may need changing.

ta, i did check that nothing was coming out of the valve, but maybe it's too slow to show. will try, as fossy says, with more pressure.

Sometimes they don't show any bleed until you ride on them.

well, tried the fossy's suggestion, still nothing, so i have greased the thread for the valve cap in the hope that egress of air from the valve will be stemmed.

seems to have worked, although the buggy's not been required today.
