Let us know how you get on VamP.
Ha, now I can't keep quiet about my less than sterling efforts. The course was very technical in parts and not a little muddy. My all steel rigid struggled in places, and I was running about 4 sections. Mind you, I was not the only one.
Sadly my race came to an abrupt end when my bar snapped going down one of the steep bumpy sections. Followed by a head over heels tumble. Luckily, my helmet was spared any major damage as my forehead took the brunt of the initial impact, so all good there.
DNF for my first MTB race of the season, and not a small amount of headscratching, as to how to approach the rest of the season. I.e. whether to persevere with the rigid, or invest in a more modern XC machine.
