Ok so getting the old pedals off the bike has become a marathon. Got right hand off and changed no problem but left a begger

It's an Allen key at the back of the pedal and it's pretty much rounded before I started. Is there any other way to get them off other than the Allen key bolt? Thanks

The pedal is bin material so could try that. Thanks
If it's really stuck, which it seems to be, I'd file flats onto the exposed spindle and get a spanner on there. Or Mole grips as someone else suggested. Another suggestion (faint hearted people, look away now), is to hammer an oversize Torx driver into the rounded off allen key hole.

You say you're turning it the right way. Double checking: the left hand pedal has a left hand thread.

So to placate my stupidity lol I am on the right hand side of the bike looking st the back of the left pedal Allen key and turning clockwise. To be fair I did try anti incase I was having Sunday morning stupidity

Still got both tyres and saddle to do was hoping for a productive day. Ha

If you are looking at it from the back then you are turning the wrong way. Looking at it from that side it needs to turn anti-clockwise.

Edit to add: if you put the allen key in place with the handle upwards it needs to turn towards the back of the bike regardless of which side you are looking at.

If it all goes wrong, SJS Cycles do spare cranks. Depending upon the pedal, you might be able to undo the body from the axel, then you have the axel to grip.

The left side pedal has a left-hand thread (removes clockwise ie the 'wrong' way). From the allen key side this is, of course, anti-clockwise but since that's (now) rounded, of little relevance unless you go for the Torx option ^^^^.
are there any flats on the spindle to take a pedal spanner? (Or other thin 15mm spannner)
Well are there? If not probably easiest to pull the crank off and work on it with crank held (packing) in a vice.

This is the route I'm on next! Changed my saddle and fitted 2 new vittoria zafirro tyres to see if they any good

Good luck with filing usable flats on a hardened CroMo axle doubling up as a bearing race. Also, a Torx key is about just as hard as the axle itself, no hammering will get it in there.
