I'm living in the past - I only got the email today!

Quite fancy the sound of 100miles, but the 51 miler is better for the friendly CC social side of it. I'm torn...

Aye do keep up old fellow!

I don't think I'll be going for it. If I am going to do 100 miles it'll be the Trossachs Ton again. Very well organised, excellent route and not x thousand other cyclists to avoid (oh and the odd road cone )

Goo, if you want to do 100, it has to be the TT. There were unfitter than you doing it last year....he had to be taken to hospital afterwards...granted....:angry:

As for me being superfit...mmm. Haven't done anything over 11.5 miles yet this year, althought I am doing it day in day out and it is hilly!

a wee bit OT but as it has been mentioned is the Trossachs Ton an event where you need to get sponsored or is it pay and ride - I can't seem to get the info on the website - probably me being stupid as I'm not the brightest

IIRC last year it was both, £25 entry fee and raise a further £25. Effectively £50 in total.

Hi, I’m new to the forum (this is my first post), anyway, I’ve signed up for Pedal for Scotland, 100 miler, and the Trossach Ton, never done a 100 mile ride yet, biggest was 70 miles with Glasgow CTC last August, so I want to see if I can reach a ton this year.

I was also looking at “Maggie's Monster Bike & Hike”, were you bike for 30 miles and then hike for 43 miles, but they want £100 registration then £400 minimum sponsorship. Now I know it’s a good cause, but they’ve just priced me out of competing. Now i don't mind paying about £50 for a run, but £500!!!

Welcome Jim. Hadn't heard of the Maggies event before, but that look like a team event, so maybe the costs aren't too excessive.

YeAh, I fancied the Maggie one but it could end up very expensive...very difficult getting money out of people these days without a lot of work.
I've signed up for the sportive Glas/Edin, the 47 mile one its simply to busy and way too many cones, :cycle:really hoping the sportive one will be quieter. :hyper:
