Pedal for Scotland 51 miles Glasgow to Edinburgh

I am signed up for this event on Sunday but with a hurricane on its way to Scotland I can see the event being cancelled or at the very least a lot of people pulling out. Anybody on here doing this run?

had intended to cycle back to glasgow afterwards but with the forecast winds i think i'll reconsider that option

I'm doing the long one. Will be on the start line come hell or high water.

Forecasts are saying Sunday night or Monday for the gales, so hopefully it'll be ok.

I am signed up for this. The 51 mile event, not the longer one. I will be there, wind or no wind. Been looking forward to it for weeks.

Good day out and thankfully managed to avoid the rain...looked like it was about to start while waiting in Glasgow Green but held off.

Bit of an error in the organisation having the fun ride in Edinburgh going down the same route as those of the challenge ride for the last 9 miles. The cycle track sections are pretty narrow there and it is bad enough with the dog walkers and runners but today was very congested with inexperienced riders and little kids doing the fun ride - it was an accident waiting to happen. The challenge riders should really be routed via roads for the last bit IMO

I haven't done it for a few years now but 3000+ down that path was sheer lunacy and put me off and somebody said it was 9000 yesterday
