Changed my fork from air fork to rigid fork but now the pedal clearance from the ground is too low so i keep on hitting my pedals going on sharp turns. How do I fix this?
Make sure your outside pedal is down when you are turning. This will also help with faster cornering as you are meant to push some weight through the outside pedal as you corner.
Sounds like the replacement fork is simply too short for the frame and I don't know of any solution for that other than replacing with a longer fork.
I grounded a pedal on a turn just once.
A few hundred miles later the pedal spindle broke, then a short while after that I had a big crash when this happened:
When I raced, I used to regularly ground my pedals during crits, particularly in the last lap. My back wheel skipping out of line in a fast corner made following riders back off and leave a gap for the sprint. I haven’t broken a pedal axle yet.
