I currently don't have a workstand and it is beginning to drive me mad. I've been looking at the Park Tools PCS-9 (would like the PCS-10 but can't afford it).

I'm not going to be doing any major work with it, just cleaning, brakes and gear adjustments.

Is the PCS-9 a good choice or should I be spending my hard earned cash on something else?

Seems like a very good stand to me. Good price too.

I don't know how I managed before I got my workstand.

What about THIS one on the bay? I'm in the market for one myself and have been thinking I might give it a go for 46 quid and a bit of postage.

I can vouch for that one on ebay, I picked one up back end of last year from the same seller and for the money it's really solid and well put together. I've nothing to compare it against but for me doing general maintenance it's perfect. Replaced BB / Chain-set and brakes last weekend, doddle with the stand, also great for general cleaning and tweaking those gears

I've just ordered the PCS-9 after reading lots of good reviews. £81.70 on Amazon.

Almost looking forward to cleaning the bike on the weekend!

I've got the PCS-9 from Tweeks cycles for £79.99, but that was before the Vat rise. It's the first stand I've owned and now I wouldn't be without one. The PCS-9 works just fine.

Oops just checked the price and it's now £79.02!!!!!!

I've had a Minoura RS-4000 for more than 10 years and it's a thing of beauty

EDIT: Apparently it's been replaced by the 5000 now and is over £160! bet it's not as good either

I've received my PCS-9 and finally had time to build it. Straight forward to do, took around 10 mins.

However, I have one question; Where should I clamp my bike in to it? I believe the seat post is the usual place, rather than the frame but my seat post is carbon (and without raising the seat it won't quite fit). Should I clamp my aluminium frame?

After recommendations from the posters above, I bought one of these.
Arrived promptly (for eBay) and looks solid and well built. Holds the bike very steady, and you get a tool tray too.
