Hi all,
I've got some stuff lying around that I've accumulated over the years. And I was wondering if they'd be compatible.
Long story short, would a Claris front derailleur work with a Tiagra crankset? I can't see why it wouldn't, assuming both are double/triple speed (I can't remember and it's too wet to go digging around to check).
I have the compatible bottom bracket for the Tiagra, so that's covered. Anything else?
I think the frame is an old steel Raleigh Pulsar. I have some 700c wheels which are fine for a cassette, spare Tektro long-cantilever brakes (which may or may not work straight off the bat), Claris brifters and rear derailleur and an 8-speed cassette. I also have better shaped handlebars. As far as I can tell, I will need to cold-set the frame and also get some bosses (correct term?) to put on the downtube where the shifters used to be.
Thanks
