panniers for bikes with no lugs?

Hi i have a marin mountain bike with a saddle attached back plate.
Not having lugs makes looking for panniers hard work as i need something that is not going to smash into my back wheel.
any suggestions would be welcome.

Use p-clips ?

You also need to double check the racks will go past your disc brakes (if you've got them).

Not quite at the moment have one very battered pannier hat doesnt cause to many problems but it has got caught before sending a bag of shopping flying.
the problem isint so much the brakes. but rapid cornering with lots of weight and its prone to problems. i have a marin palisides btw.
