I have an old Raleigh Equipe which has seen better days.

The seat tube and chain stays have a far amount of loose flaky paint, which i decided to scrape off ... mainly becasuse I found found 'rust killer' in my elderly fathers garage.

I'll sand down the steel as required and will give these a coat of white paint.

I can't really be bothered to take everything off and try a total respray, anyway I haven't all the necessary tools.

Instead I'll just use a brush and paint the affected parts, after applying the rust killer.

What paint should I use ?

Is Hammerite smooth the best option ?

thanks !

Hammerite should be fine, or try Japlac Enamel.
