Paint question

On a long ride last week the chain came off and got firmly stuck behind the crank.
With me being heavy handed i've taken off a twenty piece size of paint right down to the bare metal on trying to free it.

The bike is a white giant defy 4 which i bought from new only a month ago.

Any suggestions on how to repair it?

Will i have to take the crank off to get to it and what paint and primer will i need?

it may be easier to do if you remove the crank. if frame is aluminium, then you should use an etch primer so that it keys to the metal (this is special primer formulated to stick to aluminium), followed by top coat(s) + laquer.

the area is not really visible so it needn't be a top job hence the suggestions above will suffice.
