Ride It Like You Stole It!

Hmm,

Went out for a training ride last friday evening.

Took all the back lanes through to Potts Shrigley, then up the Brickworks. Ran a gear lower than usual due to my shoulder so could sit down on the climb, which meant I was going a fair lick as it leveled out on the top. Just past that really scruffy farm on the top, oh what's that all over the road ?..... paint ? ....wet ? dry ? - There is the pot, looks round, what's that I smell, oh sh1t, wet paint. Too late !

Missed the big blob, but went over what I thought were dry marks - nope. Tyres are now blotchy white, not black and blue.

Got home some miles later, and the frame had blobs on it, and all over the rear wheel. Fortunately it was water based, and not chemical, so polished off with Mr Sheen ! The tyres are still blotchy though

Count yourself lucky. Here at work our car park backs onto an engineering firm. A few months ago they were blasting iron filings out of a vent, all over our car park. I noticed that my car was going a dusty brown and moved it but over the following month all the other cars went a rusty brown colour. The little bits of iron had rusted themselves onto the paintwork and were surrounded with a little blobs of irridescence. It was impossible to polish them off. Eventually my company took it up and next door made an insurance claim; they brought in a bunch of Polish guys who cleaned all the cars with some kind of acid cleaner with a purple indicator then polished them with a special polymer. The results were feckin' astonishing, ever car came up showroom clean and shiny, quite amazing.

Edit: the polish guys were Polish; they worked very hard indeed.
