I went out for a ride this morning, but got off my usual routes by turning off every time the road headed towards home. The lanes became narrower and narrower, even with grass growing in the middle. It was a simple way of exploring new routes, and good to be fairly traffic free for much of the ride. When I got home however and began to warm up (the ride was in temperatures about freezing) my penis was agony. Last time I had that was years ago when I used to run. It must have been in the direct airflow to get so cold to cause the pain when warming up. I held off my shower for half hour, I learnt that lesson before as well from painful experience. Hot water does not help!

Have you tried keeping it inside your trousers when cycling ?

I used to suffer with the same thing when coming back after running years ago.
My side effect of running was that I always needed a poo when running so as soon as I would come back I would be straight onto the toilet, it would be then that my penis would really start hurting. I really sympathise with you mate, try insulating it better. Good luck anyway

er ok no easy way to do this i guess -
groin area reacts to sports stress in such a way as blood is diverted from it ,this is amplified in cycling because your sitting on its main blood supply .

So ,
Ahem - runners on tv etc apear unaffected as do cyclists etc (please this is difficult enough without giggling )
Thats because of relaxation they are not as physically stressed as joe bloggs so no tension or reduced blood flow , in cold weather this stops blood vessels in the penis contracting and feeling the effects of the cold as much ,
consider a really cold hand were its stinging sore and difficult to use its just the same down below ,
Learn breathing techniques build up stamina and by all means insulate well .

Unfortunately my skills are in sewing. There are several experienced knitters on this forum, one of whom will no doubt come up with something.

Shouldn't be difficult to do something simple. An ideal candidate for the simple tubular knitting I have a pattern for, although the patterns are for Ipod or recorder cases....

Is the additional pouch really necessary though? That would complicate it.
