...just in me right knee...mainly when pushing down...left knee fine...started hurting when i stopped for a drink at about 9 miles...anyone got any ideas?...i wear clipless??
bump bumpety bump!...i think the seat may be too high...when i unclip at a light i'm literally stood on my toes with my balancing foot....it this normal?...its just my right knee which may indicate im using more force with this leg?
I had a similar problem and found that it was actually that my seat was too low! When seated I don't think I can touch the floor (haven't tried I guess). I tend to stand over the top tube when stood. I know that your leg should be only just bent when the pedal is at the lowest point of your stroke (I think that's right and someone will probably enlighten you more!)
Hope it gets better!
Since I recently changed my saddle I'm having similar problems with knee pain. I think I've got it nailed down to the seat height being slightly lower and possibly too far back.
Suffice to say, it's a science I don't fully understand. If it persists maybe get fitted to the bike by a reputable LBS?
Also make sure you're not grinding a big gear when not required. Always spin in a lower gear if you can, as it's places less pressure on the joints for the same speed.
