No, not an incontinence related question, although not far off based on a couple of close shaves with my current brake pads.*

Being at the err, stockier end of the spectrum, my pads have taken a bit of a beating and the fronts of my Rival 22s are nearly shot, so I'm due a change anyway. Also, I've noticed (a not unsurprizing) deficit of power in the wet. I realize will always be the relative case, but at the moment it's more like squeezing a tub of butter on the rims.

So, any recommendations for replacement pads that are better than stock and especially in the wet? I'm not really fussed about wear rates and any input from other 'sturdy' riders would be appreciated!

* Both incidents involved other cyclists on the Cambridge MGB, neither of whom felt that looking forward in the dark was as important as looking at (presumably) their Garmin. One wonders if 400 lumen at the front is adequate as a 'be seen' light, despite being plenty adequate to see by....

Koolstop salmons or Swissstop green (I believe these or the black version are OEM on Rival).

Swissstop are good but don't come cheap. My only worry is that iirc Swissstop are the standard pad on Sram groupset or at least used to be.
You can get wet/winter specific varieties though.
Been the best I have found, noticeably better than other pads I have used.

Swissstop aren't that expensive when you realise they're sold in packs of four, not in pairs so at £17.50(ish) at Wiggle they compare favourable with the Koolstops at £8 per pair.

Okay. I didn't know that Swissstop were the OEM for SRAM, so if I go that route, I'll have a look at the winter grades for preference. The standard pads are definitely black, but I don't suppose you can bank on an OEM fitment being the same, just because the colour matches?

Keen to hear any additional opinions.

I'm 15st and commute in the rain in a very hilly area.... I'm not shy on the descents (40 - 45mph+ every day on the commute), all my bikes had either SwissStop Green or Koolstop Salmon. Never had a problem stopping.
