Are they for the seat stays or where the bosses should be? They come in all sorts of sizes and styles and I just wanted to know if it really mattered where they went.
Thats helpful, thanks. They position relative to where they are needed. They're different sizes due to different tube dimensions. So they go at the tops of the seat stays for racks, bottom for lower rack fixings and guards
I can't find a great picture, but this gives you an idea

My tube diameter is 60mm. I have found some p-clips to fit this but they are very expensive. Where are the cheapest ones?

Up. The 18mm will be too tight. If the 20mm clip is too big (which I doubt) it's easy to pad it out with a bit of old inner tube.I have just realised. The clips are refering to diameter, not circumference. Therefore a 60mm circumference is going to be a 19mm diameter. Should I go up or down as the clips only come in either 18 or 20mm?
I have accurately measured it and it is 20mm so I think I will get that size. If they are too small, then I can always send them back and get an exchange for a bigger size.Up. Personally, I used 21mm stainless ones from a marine chandlery which I found a better fit than the sort stocked by most bike shops.
