Now this could be the dumbest question ever, but how do overshoes fit over shoes when you are clipped into the pedals? Is there a hole in the bottom where the shoes clip in or do you clip in through the sole of the overshoe. Just read this through and it's a bit gobbledegook, but I know what I'm trying to say, hope you do too!

I fell out with my overshoes last winter , i bought a pair of endura mtb ones which lasted about a month before i managed to pull the zip off the back of one.

This happened to mine. I fitted a keyring instead, the only downsides is that don't now stay fully up!

Best ones imo are those with velcro closure on the back (zips get full of clag and break) and where the sole has a velcro closure across the middle so the cleat doesn't tear the sole

A pair of Ye Olde Fashioned Carradice Duxback overshoes arrived for me this very afternoon, sturdy elastic strap underfoot and a full Velcro closure at the box, body of waxed cotton. Personally I use a very non-technical pedal, but the Duxbacks look as though they'd easily fit clipless. Mind you, they would look a wee bit out of place next to carbon fibre and titanium...
