Ive been to my LBS for the last three weeks trying to get some Altura night vision over trousers for my four trip a day no matter what the weather short rides to check my chickens are ok . Today they had a new delivery of large and xxlarge . I need small !
Now Aldi have some over trousers at about a tenner and I have two problems .
I have Altura night vision panniers and jacket so the trousers will make me look like Altura man  but its good stuff and I like to buy quality rather than buy something that doesn't really work .
However im not a name badge kinda guy so is the Aldi gear going to keep me dry ? I would be very annoyed if I spent a tenner to get wet as I can do that for free , I would rather spend fifty quid and stay dry .
Any opinions ?

I bought a pair of Night Vision trousers ten days ago. They have had plenty of opportunities to prove themselves. I'm rather impressed. They don't pack up into a small volume, but they seem pretty well made and look hardwearing. The zips at the bottom of the legs make putting them on with shoes really easy. They look a bit geeky but I don't care too much about style. I bought them to keep my jeans dry. They do.

You might have to spend more than fifty quid for a good pair of lined overtrousers:sad:

You do have to be careful with cheapo w/proof trousers. The waterproofing material can wear off the seating area in a remarkably short time, ie hours rather than days:sad:. You might get away with cheaper trousers for a short trip where you can afford to just go slower in the rain rather than sweat and find yourself wetter inside than out.
I'm in between over trousers just now so cannot advise further.

Lightweight and come in a tiny pouch.
Used them many times and most recently on the fnrttc Brighton.

While I found Aldi's waterproof jacket (the hi-viz one) excellent, the trousers did let some water in while riding the 5 miles to work in heavy rain.
To be expected at the price, imo, but they are good for short journeys in a drizzle.

Never had a problem with the Aldi waterproof trousers. They are a bit boil in the bag if you are going to ride fast, but if you ease off they are OK. tend to use mine when it's bouncing down, and those, plus decent overshoes keep my feet (and shoes) bone dry. Wet soggy shoes stink.
