I'm not sure if this is what they are called so am after some help. I'm after something to join 2 outer brake cables which run along the top tube of my Peugeot. I know modern bikes use 2 pieces of outer cable on the rear brake, with a gap in the middle but the hangers/lugs on the pug are designed to have outer cable run throught them.

I don't want to change the whole cable as it means disturbing the brand new bar tape so a joiner would be ideal

Cheers, kev

It is called a Shimano Cable Housing Junction Ferrule, and available on EBay

Just a thought but I'm guessing that the outer cable doesn't move anyway, so I'm considering butting 2 5mm outer cables together and using some strong rubber heat shrink from work.

Another option would be a mini conversion using some sort of 5mm stop ends and having the same sort visible inner cables as more modern bikes

Disturb the bar tape & do the job properly, anything else is a bodge, I wouldn't bodge brakes, if your careful the bar tape should go back OK.
