Hi all,
I work for a Community Centre and Boating club in Camden - London. A lot of our staff are cyclists, plus a lot of the people who come to our activities are too. We would like to install 4-10 cycle racks outside on the waterside sor storage - partly so that people stop keeping them in the building!

We are lookign for something that takes up as little space as possible and is fairly inexpensive. Does not need to be the most secure ones ever, as it is our land and someone would have to swim across the cnal to get to them!

Any ideas?

Theres various companies that specialise in selling sheffield stands (if you get the type that has the pins at the base to prevent theives working them free from the concrete). Many of these companies will also sell full blown shelters, but I would avoid anything that secures to a single wheel.

I'm probably not qualified to recommend a company since I've never ordered that kind of thing myself. Expect to pay around £50 to £80 a stand though, or a few thousand for a full shelter. If you speak to Sustrans or the CTC they might be able to advise of a decent/trustworthy seller...

I have a bike stand called a "PlantLock" which sounds ideal for what you want...

They also do a stand called the "Elvis"
