Effing Neds (Chavs.... feel free to insert a stronger word/s).
I was in the DCC ride today which pauses at the top of a hill, after I ended up at the front of the pack for the sharp downhill through Clackmannan; it wasn't the place to be some neds took exception and chucked a bottle at me, it bust open my ankle a bit and there's some swelling its not too bad though and hopefully it'll go down before tomorrow; I don't fancy cycling 81miles on it :-(
There's not much in this thread but I just wanted to take my mind of my ankle, it never worked :-(

Jeez! What is wrong with these morons?

I know violence should never be the answer, but sometimes you can't help thinking that a generous helping of rough justice might make 'em think twice... At the very least, I'd have been tempted to report the culprit to the local constabulary.

Hope your injuries heal soon...

Get well soon HLaB! :hugs:

Hope you disinfected the cut properly and told the police about it - there is no knowing what they might get up to next, for "a bit of fun" ... wires across the road?

I spotted this on the Giro thread first and could go back & tidy up, but a bit of extra sympathy won't do any harm, I hope, even if a bit off-topic  .

Thanks Folk :-)
No harm in going OT T :-)
I should have reported it or knocked folks block off (I had 20+ folk to back me up) but I was only thinking at the time about the folk draughting behind me. The Cafe was only a couple of miles down the road (mostly downhill) and it didn't feel too bad other than stinging till there; I should have asked the bloke in Loganlea if I could borrow the phone but its a bit late now. I've went through that village thousands of times and never had a reaction like that.

Still, IMO, a word to the police won't do any harm, so it's on the record, should there be further problems at another time ... or, if there were problems previously, you might be backing up somebody else's report.
If it's local kids, they'll be hanging round there regularly, especially if there is such "fun" to be had.

They were a bit older than kids, I would have guessed early 20s. I've cycled through there thousands of times and you rarely see any kids and the odd time I have its the friendly hello; it seems like the kids are more innocent and better behaved than certain so called adults in Clackmannan.
