Ouch - but is my wheel OK?

So this morning I took a heavy tumble at a (small) roundabout; all OK but a few scrapes.

The cause was a massive piece of glass in my tyre so changing the tube after work I realised the rim was quite sharp and scratched - see image.

My question is, shall I just put a new tube in or is the wheel KO'd?

Thanks!

can't really tell without being there but is the paint just scratched or is the metal scuffed up when you run your finger over it, does it feel like someone has aggressively filed it? does it feel sharp?
Cheers Ed
P.S: what does 'KO'd' stand for?

Great, thanks all - it isn't dented, there was just one really sharp bit but the rest is just not as smooth as it should be, certainly not a sharp point or anything!

@young Ed KO = Knock Out!

I had an accident of a very different kind tonight. After picking up a bottle of finest Ghanian Club beer I put it in a plastic bag (called a rubber here..don't ask) and cycled away with it hanging from the bars. Unfortunately it caught in the front wheel, the spokes acting as a bottle opener with the contents spewed all over the road. Do you think the spokes are alright? I sustained no injury.

As the others have said, get it smooth again and it's good to go. It's hard to tell from the angle of the photo, but it gives a curious impression of the rim tape not being properly seated over the spokes. I'm sure it's just my eyesight and the photo, so reassure yourself that it's sitting centrally before putting a new tube on it.

do any of the spokes look bent when you look along them? do any of the feel loose?
lift the front wheel in the air and spin it whilst look at the gap between the rim and brake blocks is it even as the wheel goes round or does it change?
Cheers Ed
