OT: Tow-bar ball nuts and bolts...what size spanner?

Gotta remove the tow-bar ball on my car to remove the bike rack fixture that is bolted to it. 'Cos of all the sockets and wires it's a bugger of a job to do with adjustables and stilsons, sockets would be good or the correct type of spanner, but oes anybody know the size required?

Think its either a 17mm or a 19mm

Why, if he is looking for the correct spanner size would he want to know the bloody thread size?
